Weekend catch up

A few things to catch up and share with you.  It may have been a little quiet here, but that is because the kiosk has been out and about. I have been posting over at Tigerprint's Youblog again. This time all about the colour pink. Here is snippet...

... if you want to find out more you will have to hop on over to Youblog.

I was also to be found this week on the fantastic Patternbooth blog. Where Cara (who's work I featured right here last week ) has showcased some of my new work. If you want a preview head over to Patternbooth. It is well worth a visit for all sorts of modern homewares, pattern and fashion.

Of course I've been Christmas shopping too and have been making an effort to buy handmade and local. Below are a couple of gems I've scooped. Lambswool mittens by Her indoors and Say Yes! by Anthony Peters. Now I just have to try really hard not to keep them for myself!

I am planning some new ideas for the blog. My last post for Tigerprint made me realise just how much my colour palette has got stuck in a rut, so I will be setting myself some colour challenges soon, that I will share with you here. My first challenge is to create a pattern using Pantone colour of the year 2013- a lovely emerald green. Do you have a favourite colour you would like to see me use? If so leave a comment or email me at hello@esthercoxskiosk.com.

Here is a little peek at a pattern collection I have been putting together based on 20th century British sculpture. I've been looking at Lynn Chadwick, Barbara Hepworth, Ben Nicholson, Reg Butler and Ruth Duckworth. I think it is a project I could run with for some time.

Finally, my welcome to the Kiosk features have been really popular and I am keen to continue with it. If you are a designer, illustrator or maker who would like to be featured do get in touch. I like work in all different genres but if your style is graphic, retro, or quirky you are likely to fit in!
