Hello Sunday. It is bloghop day today. Not sure what that is all about? Well find out more at the end of this post.
The patterns here have been a bit of an experiment for me. I've deliberately limited my motifs and colour palette. The patterns below were created from a day spent doing some experimental markmaking using continuous line, collage and inky fingers!
The drawings were quite simple, but I have played with scale and layering in Illustrator to create these non repeating patterns. The biggest change for me has been forcing myself to use a background colour. I have to say I'm quite pleased with the results. They seem more contemporary than my usual retro style.
These are intended to be a range of giftwrap papers. But if you can think of a better use for them, I'd love to know. Leave a comment below. I'm all ears.
If you are following the Passion for Pattern bloghop today, you’ve
probably just joined the Kiosk from the colourful geometric world of of Bethania Lima. Make sure you visit Miranda Mol

in the hop, you can see the whole thing, starting at Claire Smillie's blog.
Pop over there now to join in the fun! You'll get to see a whole load
of different design styles. It'll be interesting, give it a go. I
promise you don't have to actually hop. just click on the links.

ReplyDeleteEsther I love this...I love all the layers and the bold fabulous colours. I love how experimental you are with your pattern making and how creative it comes across. I agree gift wrap...or maybe as a gift bag for the last design, would be absolutely perfect. You know, I can't even pick my favourite because they are all so wonderful and I keep changing my mind! Now I wanna play :)
